Hangi Speech

Hangi is an ancient food of Maori. Maori have been cooking hangi for hundreds of years. Hangi is a special way of cooking food using a pit oven under the ground, hot stones and steam. First, the meat should be in the basket and you can use chicken, fish, shellfish, pork and lamb. Vegetables like potatoes, kumara (it is sweet potato), pumpkin, and corn on the cob can all go in the steel basket. Then the steel basket gets covered with wet sheets and the wet sheets get covered with wet sacks. It takes about three hours to cook hangi. Maori use Manuka. Manuka is the best kind of wood because it cans burns hard and gives nice smoke flavor to the food. These days, there are many different way to cook hangi. Steel basket became widely. They use sack and cloth instead of leaves and dirt covering of choice. On the other hand, “Hangi Cooker” has used the style of cooking. It can cook without wood fire hot stones and a pit oven. So if you get hangi cooker, you will cook hangi easily.

Maori Foods about Hangi

Hangi is an ancient food of Maori. They use heated rocks heated in the ground in a pit oven. Heated rocks and ingredients into a basket and steam that for three hours in a pit oven. Ingredients are pork, mutton, lamb, chicken and generous portions of root vegetables such as kumara (it is sweet potato), pumpkin, carrot, potato, onions and cabbage in basket. Hangi still used heated rocks and a pit oven today. These days, there are many different way to cook Hangi. More recently, "hangi machines" have attempted to replicate the style of cooking without need for a wood fire, rocks and a pit. Hangi has no special preparation of the food is needed besides peeling the root vegetables, but adding herbs such as rosemary, garlic. In addition, stuffing the chicken can add exciting flavors. A Polynesian addition of taro leaves wrapped around some of the food gives it a peppery spice.

1min Speech about Oktoberfest

I'm going to talk about a day of Oktoberfest. On the first day, women acts as a mayor of Munich with a black clork. Women walks on the road and follows some carriages. There are a lot of barrels. When the mayor say "O' zapft is!" (This means released alcohol), the festival start. On the second day, about 8,000 people wears traditional costume. They are from Bayern and wails in the central town as a parade.

Let me introduce this year's Oktoberfest to you. According to the articles, this festival started on September 20th and finished on October 5th. People enjoyed themselves to their hearts, drinking beer and dancing for 16 days. This festival is the largest festival in the world , so this festival's scale, hall and so on were even bigger than last year's one. Munich city was founded 850 years ago, so the shooting fans blank shots from guns 850 times there on October 3rd.
